About Our Founder, Kate Wilson.

“With over 20 years of rich experience in the security industry, my career has been a journey of transformation and resilience, filled with invaluable lessons learned along the way.”

Through Kate’s experiences, she came to realise that careers are more than just work; they offer opportunities for personal growth, fulfilment , and the chance to make meaningful contributions to the world. Moreover, careers provide financial freedom and choice, but when we are not happy, they can also negatively impact our mental and physical health.

After leaving school and exploring various jobs, at 19 Kate embarked on her career as a police officer, seizing the opportunity to experience a wide range of diverse roles available in policing – from walking the beat to joining the riot squad, being a licenced search officer, and becoming a specialist detective, Kate’s time in the police was full of learning and unique experiences which set the foundations for her future.

Whilst working full time and managing a young family, Kate’s dedication to personal and professional advancement drove her to complete a Master’s degree in her 30s, proving that you’re never too old or busy to pursue your dreams and invest in yourself.

After 14 years of service and driven by a desire to grow professionally, Kate made the decision to transfer her skills and specialise in security and intelligence within private industry – where she remains today. In this role, she leads transformational global projects and is recognised as an expert in her professional domain.

Kate’s career milestones have not only enhanced her career trajectory but also broadened her perspective, empowering her to share knowledge through lectures and presentations at various educational institutions and events. Her international speaking engagements have taken her to Brussels, Strasbourg, London, and The Hague, where she has shared her insights at high profile conferences.

Kate’s experiences have honed her skills in critical decision-making and functioning under pressure, reinforcing her confidence and resilience, qualities she acknowledges not everyone has had the chance to develop. This has ignited a passion in her to pass on these essential skills to others, aiming to inspire the next generation by developing confidence, curiosity, and growth. Kate also advocates for all women to step into their power and fulfil their potential regardless of age or current situation.

Recognising the inherent strengths of women and the unique challenges they face, SHEISBOSSINGIT strives to uplift and support women in their journey towards growth, success, and fulfilment, while also addressing unconscious bias and the significant societal pressures faced by 21st-century women. Kate believes that everyone, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to succeed and is dedicated to building this platform to provide accessible tools, mentorship and strategies to those who need them.

As a mother of three daughters, Kate is passionate about nurturing the next generation, especially in today’s challenging world with high expectations. With over 20 years of rich experience in the security industry, Kate finds great satisfaction in mentoring young professionals. Her aim is to help them build confidence, develop essential skills, and effectively navigate the challenges they encounter in their careers.

Kate firmly believes that sport provides valuable “power skills” and helps shape individuals, building stronger characters. Once an international netball player, Kate faced the challenging decision to transition from elite sports to a professional paid career. Despite it being one of the toughest choices she has made, she recognizes the need to support female athletes and acknowledges their valuable skills that can benefit various industries. Therefore, she is dedicated to supporting women in both sport and careers.

Currently, SHEISBOSSINGIT proudly partners with Women In Boxing and sponsors Adele Nicoll, an inspirational athlete with a dual Olympic dream, excelling in shot put and bobsleigh.

I firmly believe in the importance of women’s career development, offering a sense of purpose, self-identity, and financial freedom.
